The rest of the IDC, the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Program, is the final development step in your quest to become a PADI Instructor. During the IDC, you learn to manage and adapt the PADI System of diver education to individual student needs. Academic information is completed via e-learning components and the remainder of your coursework will involve direct interation wiht the Course Director and Program Staff. Comprehensive training supported by a wide variety of PADI educational materials, earn PADI Instructors respect from both students and peers.
The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor rating sets you apart from the crowd. PADI Instructors may conduct the entire range of PADI programs - from Discover Scuba through Divemaster. The PADI Open Water Scuba instructor course consists of:

Prerequisite Certification:

PADI Assistant Instructor or leadership level certification with another recreational scuba training organization.

Prerequisite Dives
|
Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months with 100 logged dives and have documentation of experience in deep, night and navigation diving.

Medical Clearance
|
Signed by a physician, within the previous 12 months
|
